Clifford Stiffler | |||
Clifford Stiffler, 88, formerly of Prospect, died Thursday at Alterra Sterling
House after a two-year illness. He was retired after 40 years in the furniture business with the former City Furniture Mart and Loeb Furniture Co. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Prospect, with many years of perfect Sunday School attendance, and Prospect Senior Citizens. He was born Nov. 2. 1912, in Marion County to the late Earl and Laura Miley Stiffler and was predeceased by a sister, Goldie Wood; and a brother, Arthur Stiffler. He married Caroline Lauer June 26. 1936, and she died April 9, 1993. He is survived by a son. Robert (Sharon) Stiffler of Marion: a granddaughter, Angela (Hal) Chase; a great-granddaughter Aubree: a step-great-grandson. Ty; a sister. Hazel Cluff of Greensboro. N.C.; and a faithfufbrother-in-law. Charles Lauer of Prospect. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Stephen S. Bull will officiate and burial will be at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Gehm- Ballinger Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund in care of the funeral home. | |||
