Mildred Lavina Finstermacher Allen, 94, of Richwood died Sunday, Feb.
13, 2000, at Heartland of Marysville after a short illness. She was a wife, mother, court reporter and juvenile probation counselor for the Court of Common Pleas in Union County and a legal secretary for the prosecuting attorney. She was a member of the Richwood First United Methodist Church, past president of the United Methodist Women and member of the church choir. A graduate of Richwood High School and Marion Business College, she was a member of Mount Carmel Chapter 423 Order of the Eastern Star and the Fortnightly Club and past president of Carpe Diem. She was born Jan. 16, 1906, in Trenton, Mo., and was predeceased by her father, Edmond Finstermacher; her mother, Ola Roberts Finstermacher Cameron; two brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, the Hon. Robert F. Allen whom she married June 15,1927, in Richwood; a son, Noel Robert Allen of Richwood; two daughters. Polly Jo (Robert) Green of Frankfort, Ky., and Sally Ann (Edward) Robe of Athens; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and a niece, Paula Finstermacher Scott of Security, Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Richwood First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Joseph Rhea will officiate and burial will be at the Price Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Ballinger Funeral Home. The deceased's grandsons and grandsons-in-law will be pall bearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund. Cards will be available at the funeral home. | |||
