Bradley M. Farrington died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, in the home in
which he was born near Richwood as the result of a stroke suffered four years ago from which he did not fully recover. He farmed and owned, trained and drove harness horses. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association and the Ohio Harness Horse Association in which he served as a director for several year. He won several driving and training titles at tracks in Ohio, Kentucky and Illinois and had 1,737 lifetime wins. He was a member of the Kenton Moose Lodge and Amvet Post 1994. He was born Feb. 9, 1928, to the late Louie and Francis Linn Farrington. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Barnhart Farrington whom he married Sept. 9, 1947; a daughter, Judy (Jim) Ferguson of Sherman, 111.; a son, Larry (Debora) of Richwood; two granddaughters, Traci (Kip) Hendrickson of Marion, 111., and Julie (Scott) Foster of Springfield, 111.; three great-grandchildren: Jordan and Tess Hendrickson and Chloe Foster; a twin sister, Marilyn (Tom) Pugh of West Mansfield; a sister, Sue (Floyd) Carpenter of West Mansfield; three brothers, Rolland (Jean) of West Mansfield, Richard (Dorothy) of Golf View, Ha., and Robert (Vivian) of Sanford, Fla; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Fred Cheney will officiate and burial will be at the York Cemetery Friends may call from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Pall bearers will be Charlie Wingfield, Max Ginn, LeRoy Lingrel, David Weatherby, Wayne Temple and Russell Baldwin. Honorary pall bearers will be Jack Engle, Bill Griffith, Tom Shields and Rodney Britton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Youth Harness Horsemen's Scholarship Fund or the Rambling "Willie Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home. | |||
