Iva Marie Parish, 80, formerly of Rich wood, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000.
at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation in Marion. She was retired as a secretary for the First Baptist Church of Richwood and was a member of that church and, the Paul Vick Circle. She was bom Aug. 20, 1920, in Richwood to the late Anson and Amanda Bending Chapman and was predeceased by a son, Ted Parish; four brothers, Dallas. Theodore, John and Wilson Chapman; and a sister, Mary Anne Chapman. She married George Parish in February 1938 and he died in 1978. She is survived by a son, Gary Parish of Burke, Va.; a daughter, Diane Arnold of Morral; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Emma Snyder of Galion, Helen Shepard of San Antonio, Texas and Jeanne Warner of Claibourne; two brothers, Dale Chapman of Logan and David Chapman of Scotts Bluff, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Richwood First Baptist Church. The Rev. Barb Stevens will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ballinger Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation in care of the funeral home. | |||
