Gladys Mae Hoffman


Gladys Mae Hoffman, 79, of Prospect died Saturday, July 8,2000, at Marion
Manor after having been in failing health for several years.
She was a courtroom steno typist and retired from the Marion County
Recorder's Office. She was a graduate of Lockyears Business College in
Evansville, Ind., and was a member of the Prospect Baptist Church, Tri
Kappa Sorority and the Prospect Searchlight Literary Club.
She was born May 30, 1921, in Bicknell, Ind., to the late William P. and
Mary Brotherson Fyfe and was predeceased by a brother and a sister.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Hoffman whom she married April
4, 1944, in Hot Springs, Ark.; a daughter, Janice (Jay) Keller of Newburgh,
111.; two sons, William J. Hoffman of Hermitage, Pa., and Mr. and Mrs. James
F. Hoffman of Urbana; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Prospect Baptist
Church. The Revs. C. Rorke Warne and Thomas J. Lasley will officiate and
burial will be at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. today at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church in care of the funeral
home.
