DeMar Ward King, 85, of Prospect died Saturday, June 5, 1999, at his
home. He was a retired mechanic with the Erie Railroad. He was a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church, a 50-year member and Past Master of Prospect 444 F&AM and the first president and charter member of the Prospect Lions Club. He was born Dec. 31, 1913 in Peebles to the late Charles and Rhea Anna Ward King and was predeased by a sister. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Pauline Davids King, whom he married Sept 15, 1935, in Marion County; three sons, Jean A. King of Arizona, Craig King of Hilliard and Jon A. King of North Canton; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Prospect United Methodist Church. The Rev. David L. Hoffman will officiate and burial will be at the Prospect Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the church memorial fund. Cards will be available at the service. The Gehm-Ballmger Funeral Home in Prospect is in charge of arrangements. | |||
