Carl S. Bugg, 77, of Richwood died unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 20
1999, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was the owner and operator of the former Sohio service station in Richwood and was a farmer. A World War II Army veteran of the Persian Gulf Command, he was a member of the Richwood American Legion and a charter member of the Richwood VFW and American Legion. He was a member of the Richwood First United Methodist Church and the Richwood Board of Public Affairs and was a central committeeman for the Republican Party in Union County and a Richwood Village Council member. He was a past Worshipful Master of Mount Carmel Lodge 303 F&AM, past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 42, former Ambassador of Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and a member of Aladdin Shrine Temple, Marion Chapter and Council. He was born April 20, 1921 in Plain City to the late George and Louise Bigelow Bugg and was predeceased by a sister, Marie Berry. He is survived by his wife, Esther Ann Burnside Bugg whom he married Nov. 14, 1945, in Plain City; a daughter, Barbara (Michael) Brake of Richwood; a son, Roger (Terri) Bugg of Richwood; four grandchildren; Ryan, Scott and Mark Bugg and Michelle (Greg) Evans; three sisters, Doris Hamilton of Grove City, Bernice Yeager of Spartansburg, S.C., and Helen Lovelace of Mechanicsburg; and three brothers, George D. Bugg of Coiumbus, Wendell Bugg of Hilliard and Forest Bugg of Unionville Center Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Richwood First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Joseph Rhea will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the Richwood VFW and American Legion. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Ballinger Funeral Home where Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richwood First United Methodist Church memorial fund. | |||
