Chester Pearl Rouse, 80, of Richwood died Thursday, July 8, 1999. at
Memorial Hospital of Union County after a two-month serious illness. He was a retired custodian and bus driver at the Essex school. He was a U.S. Army World War H veteran and a member of the VFW in Richwood, the American Legion and a former VFW member in Mount Victory. He attended Union Baptist Church. He was born Feb. 25, 1919, in Union County to the late James and Etta Mae Bennett Rouse and was predeceased by a sister and a daughter He married Thelma Ruhl Dec. 25,1945, and she died Feb. 18, 1999/ He is survived by two sons, Jim Rouse of Olivet, Mich., and Jerold Rouse of Baldwin, Mich.; six grandchildren, Jamie Rouse and Jesica Rouse of Lansing, Mich., Brian Dunn of Richwood, Christopher Rouse of Olivet, James Richard Rouse of Fort Worth, Texas, and Justin Rouse? and two sisters. Madeline Curry of Columbus and Pauline Furay of Delaware. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. C.L. Fuqua will officiate and burial will be at the Byhatia Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pjn. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the Union Baptist Church Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home. | |||
