Eloise Phyllis Pelphrey, 83, of Prospect died Thursday, April 16, 1998, at
her home after having been in failing health for several years. She was a homemaker and member of the Prospect Baptist Church. She was born Nov. 10, 1914, in Brookville to the late Andrew J. and Grace Myers Broadstone and was preceded in death by her first husband, Owen W Mather who died June 28, 1949. She is survived by her husband, Jesse L. Pelphrey whom she married Dec. 3, 1955, in Marion; two daughters, Jean M. (Kenneth) Belford of Prospect and Grace E. Moore of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a son, Mark (Nancy) Pelphrey of Lima; six grandchildren, Lisa (Steven) Oswald of Prospect, Kimberly (Alan) Wiseberg of St. Petersburg, John Hornbeck of Frankfurt, Ky., Amy (Paul) Belford Johnson of San Diego and Rachel Pelphrey and Mary Pelphrey of Lima; two brothers, Andrew (Delores) Broadstone of McArthur and Richard (Marion) Broadstone of Sagamore Hills; and a sister, Helen Louise Roy of Burton, Mich. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Prospect Baptist Church. The Rev. Thomas J. Lasley will officiate and burial will be at the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice or Reflections Daycare at Marion General Hospital. | |||
