Iva J. Landon


Iva J. Landon, 73, of Prospect died Saturday, May 9, 1998, at her Home
after an extended illness.
She was retired as an inspector at Ranco and was a member of the Prospect
Baptist Church and American Legion Post 368 in Prospect.
She was born June 11, 1924, in Athens County to Leo and Jenette Norman
Morrison Sr. and was predeceased by her father; a brother, and on May 1,
1984, by her husband, Ernest E. Landon whom she married March 27,1944.
She is survived by her mother of Trimble; three sons, Robert (Nancy) Landon
of Prospect; James (Lisa) Landon of Wilmington and Ernest (Debbie)
Landon Jr. of Prospect; a daughter, Kate (Robert) Mahaffey of Prospect; 11
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Leo Morrison Jr. of
Trimble; and two sisters, Lola June Hibbard of The Plains, Ohio, and Tresa
Bums of Prospect.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Gehm-Ballinger
Funeral Home in Prospect. The Rev. Rob Schlatter will officiate and burial
will be at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
today.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or
the Battle Run Fire District in care of the funeral home.
