Jean A. Willey


Jean A. Willey, 71, of rural Prospect died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at her
residence after having been in failing health for a year.
She worked at Abbotts in Prospect for several years, at Kabel Fulfillment
in Marion and formerly owned Jean's Ceramics in Prospect. She was a member
of the Prospect United Methodist Church and was a Past Worthy Matron
of the Prospect Order of the Eastern Star.
She was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Newport, Ky., to the late Thomas A. and
Edna Waltz Braun and was predeceased by a son, Robert T. Willey, and two
brothers. She married Vaughn W. Willey Oct. 27,1945, in Newport, Ky and
he died Oct. 21,1997.
She is survived by a daughter, Yvonne (Ron) Malone of Prospect; three
grandchildren, Douglas B. Malone of Prospect and Matthew R, Malone and
Kerri Oney of Marion.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Gehm-Ballinger
Funeral Home in Prospect. The Rev. David L. Hoffman will officiate and
burial will be at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Prospect United Methodist
Church memorial fund.
