Ferne Eleanor Roller, 85, formerly of Prospect, died Sunday, June 8, 1997,
at Woodside Nursing Home in Mount Gilead after having been in failing health for several years. She was a 58-year member of the Prospect United Methodist Church where she had been a youth fellowship leader. She was a past member of Prospect Chapter 69 Order of the Eastern Star in which she was secretary for a number of years and held other officers. She had been a 4-H advisor and Girl Scout leader in Prospect She was bom May 3, 1912, in Cleveland to the late Wayne and Grace E. Derby Pae. She married George Urban Roller July 19,1932, and he died July 10,1989. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Laura Grace Dirchfield; two grandsons, Jess Roller and Gary Dean Hawk; a half-sister, Doris Dempsey; and her stepfather, Claude R. Wheeler. She is survived by two daughters, Lois (Ralph Edson) Hawk of Mount Gilead and Lenora (Hank) Mull of Palisade, Colo.; two sons, Curt (Becky) Roller of Willow Grove, Pa., and John (Paula) Roller of Bucyrus; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a,m. Thursday at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect The Rev. Wilbur R. Boyer will officiate and burial will be at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made lo the American Diabetes Assoc., Ohio Affiliate, Inc., 937 High St, Worthington, Ohio 43085.
