Julius Leonard Bliss, 87, of Richwood died Friday, Feb. 23,1996, at Union
Manor after having been seriously ill for several years. He was a retired farmer and member of the McKendree United Methodist Church and the Union County Farm Bureau. He was born Jan. 30, 1909, in Unionville Center to the late John Leonard and Ella Martin Bliss. He married Blanche Nunamaker Feb. 9,1930, and she died Feb. 21, 1993. He was also predeceased by two sisters. He is survived by two sons, Emerson Bliss of Marysville and Robert Bliss of Circleville; two daughters, Janet (Larry) Markin of Richwood and Wilma (Lewis) Oiler of Oregon; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Dale Bliss of Unionville Center and Donald Bliss of Plain City; and two sisters, Esther Mathers of Marysville and Molly (James) Fenner of Columbus. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the McKendree United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bryan Meadows will officiate and interment will be at the York Center Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. | |||
