Alice Evelyn Dix

Prospect resident Alice Evelyn Dix, 78, died Tuesday June 18, 1996
at her residence. The retired Elgin School District teacher retired
after thirty-six years of service.
The member of the Prospect United Methodist Church was born
November 26, 1917 in Columbus, the daughter of Clarence Edgar
and Maryann Stone Lightfoot. Her husband John N. Dix, whom
she married December 7, 1940, preceded her in death October 3,
1944.
Surviving are two daughters Evelyn Porter of Hilliard and Carroll
Bosse of Columbus; a son J. Stephen of Chillicothe; six grandchildren
and a great grandchild.
Also surviving are a brother Paul Lightfoot of LaRue; and two
sisters Beulah DeVine of Great Bend, KS and Clarice Dover of
Arnold, MO. A brother and a sister are deceased.
The Rev. Jeffery Jewell conducted funeral services Friday, June
21 at Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect. Burial was at
Prospect Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Marion
General Hospital.
