Prospect resident Phillips Guthery Hastings, 71, died Wednesday,
Sept. 4, 1996 at his residence following a six month's illness. The retired Smith Dairy employee was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. He graduated from LaRue High School and was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and Prospect Senior Citizens. Born February 25, 1925, the Bucyrus native was a son of the late Frank and Mildred Guthery Hastings. He married the former Yolah Trapp April 20, 1946. Surviving are his wife, two sons Wayne of Bellefontaine and Chris of Little Silver, NJ; a daughter Becky Hastings of Seattle, WA;-and six grandchildren. A daughter and a brother preceded him in death. Rev. David L. Hoffman conducted graveside services Saturday, Sept. 7 at Prospect Cemetery. Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Prospect United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. | |||
