Foy Leland "Fuzzy"
Shoewalter, 70, died Friday,
Jan. 13, 1995 at Marion General
Hospital following a three-year
illness. The Prospect resident
was a retired boiler operator at
Quaker Oats Company and
Marion Power Shovel.
The graduate of Montgomery
Rural High School in Meeker
was a World War II veteran
and retired from Honeycreek
Privisioners.
A native of Fulton, he was
born January 31, 1924, son of
James and Dorothy Alice Potts
Shoewalter. He was raised by
- his grandparents . Berton
Morgan and Luvie Ethel Potts.
Surviving are his wife, Doris
Dean, whom he married June 5,
1946; a daughter Doris Louise
Shoewalter of Columbus; a son
Jeffery of Powell; three grandchildren;
a twin sister Freida
Wcston of Morral; three half
sisters: Hilda Eldridge of Kenton,
Vivian Barry of LaRue and
Mary Rial of Forest; and two
half brothers: Freeman Oliver of
Alabama and Kenneth Oliver of
Dunkirk.
Funeral services were held at
the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral
Home in Prospect Tuesday,
Jan. 17 with Rev. John Dean officiating.
Interment was at
LaRue Cemetery where the
Marion County United
Veterans Council was in charge
of military rites.
Memorial contributions may
be made to the American Lung
Association or the American
Heart Association.
