Samuel Lauer, Jr.
Samuel Lauer, Jr. 71, of Prospect,
died Monday, Jan. 16, 1995 at
Marion Genera! Hospital
following a brief illness. The
retired farmer was a member of
St, Paul's • Lutheran Church,
Prospect Lodge #444 F & AM,
and Prospect American Legion.
The Prospect Township Trustee
.was a World War II Army Air
Corps veteran.
The son of the late Samuel
Sr., and Hazel Thomas Lauer
was born March 17, 1923. He
married the former Kathryn
Carr February 7, 1946.
Surviving are his wife, three
daughters Janet Jo Kumar of
iN'ew Jersey, Kay Jean Furlong
and DeeAnn Brant, both of
Chicago, IL; four sons: Ronald,
Samuel III and Kim, all of Prospect
and Donn of Nebraska; 9
grandchildren and a brother
Charles of Prospect.
Funeral services will be held
Thursday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. at
St. Paul's Lutheran Church
with Rev. Monty Kaufman officiating.
Burial will be at Prospect
Cemetery, where Prospect
American Legion is in charge of
military rites. Friends may call
at Gehm-Ballinger Funeral
Home Wednesday, Jan. 18 from
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Masonic services
will be conducted at 7 p.m.
Wednesday evening.
Memorial contributions may
be made to the St. Paul's
Lutheran Church Memorial
Fund.
