Schmidt, age 83, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 1995 at home after 10 years of falling health. She was born June 15, 1912, the daughter of Cassius and Cora Canouse Grigsby, who are deceased. In 1930, she wed Carlton W. Schmidt, who died March 20, 1971. She was a member of the Prospect Baptist Church and the Prospect Gardener's Club. Surviving are nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 18 at the Prospect Baptist Church. Revs. Thomas J. Lasley and Robert Schlatter officiated, with interment at the Prospect Cemetery. Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. | |||
