Charles Franklin Gill


Former Richwood
businessman, Charles Franklin
Gill, 86. died Sunday, Aug. 6, 1995 at
Rancho Mirage Healthcare in
California. The 22-year resident
of Palm Desert, California, was
a life member of Mt. Carmel
#303 F & AM and charier
member of the former Richwood
Lions Club. As a Richwood resident,
he was a very active
member of the First Baptist
Church, where he held several
offices and served as a Sunday
School teacher.
The Richwood native was
born July 31, 1908, son of the
late Charles F. and Adella
Logue Gill. He served in the U.
S. Army during World War II.
In 1973 he retired as
owner/operator of Gill Paint
and Builders Supply. He was a
member of Palm Desert Community
Church and the College
of the Desert University Club.
Surviving are his wife Sally of
Palm Desert; two sons Charles
F., Jr. of Saratoga, CA and
Richard M. of Castle Rock, CO;
and four grandchildren. A sister
Azile Arthur of Lebanon, also
survives.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 11, 1995 in the Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Charles Fye officiating.  Burial followed in Claibourne Cemetery
