Gladys Olive Ward


Gladys Olive Ward, 83 of Prospect, died Friday, May 6, 1994 at marion General Hospital.  She had been in failing health for two years.  The retired beautician formerly owned and operated the Riverview Drive-in on Rt. 4 and formerly was employed at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware and Marion General Hospital.

She was a member of St. paul's Lutheran Church, Prospect Senior Citizens, East Side Garden Club, Mt. Carmel Chapter #42 OES and served as District Deputy Grand Matron in 1962.
A native of marion, she was the dauther of Will and Fern Winters Stafford, born january 3, 1911.  Her husband, Donald E. Ward, whom she married December 15, 1932 preceded her in death April 9, 1985
Surviving are a daughter, norma Hatcher of Prospect; two grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a brother, Mahla Stafford of Caledonia.

Rev. Monty Kaufman was in charge of funeral services held Monday, May 9 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.  Burial was in Prospect Cemetery.  Gehm-Ballinger-Peppard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
