Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Ballinger-Peppard
Funeral Home, Richwood, for Letha Mae Johnson, 84, of Richwood. She died Friday, January 28, 1994 at Maplewood Nursing Center in Marion after a four-month illness. Born Dec. 23, 1909, in Claibourne Twp., Union County, she was the daughter of N. Vernor Ewing and Emma Edna (Fryman) Ewing. On July 6, 1930, she married Francis G. Johnson in Richwood. He survives along with a son, Donald F. Johnson of East Liberty; three daughters, Mrs. John (Carol Ann) Butcher and Janet Ballinger of Richwood and Mrs. Daryl (Jeanine) Diller, of Laurel, Maryland. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eva Smith of Radnor and Mrs. Keith (Frances) Phelps of Delaware. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister and one brother. A member of the Pharisburg United Methodist Church, she was a homemaker and former beauty counselor representative. The Rev. Fred Cheney will officiate funeral services and burial will be in Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richwood Emergency Squad and Fire Dept Assoc. | |||
