Letcher Monroe Higginbotham, 81, of Charleston, W. Va., died Wednesday,
Feb. 9,1994, at the home of his son. Ray Higginbotham, in Richwood. He had been in failing health for several months. He was a retired farmer and a member of Moose Lodge #0565 and Community Church of Nitro, W. Va. He was born April 15,1912, in Putnam County, W. Va., to the late Clinton and Maine Slater Higginbotham. He was predeceased by a, brother. He is survived by three sons, Clinton Higginbotham of Ocala, Fla., Ray Higginbotham of Richwood and Roy Higginbotham of Circleville; two daughters, Linda Piper and Christine Higginbotham, both of Cocoa, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Elmer Higginbotham of Nitro, Robert Higginbotham of Black Betsy, W. Va., Lonzose Higginbotham of Cabin Creek, W. Va., and Kemit Higginbotham of Canton; and two sisters, Vivanen Lett of Charleston, W. VA., and Mrs. Andrew (Juanita) Cobb, W. Va. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Keller Funeral Home, 1236 Myers St., Dunbar, W. Va.. The Rev. Franklin Lett will officiate and interment will be at Tyler Mountain Memorial Garden Cemetery near Cross Lane, W. Va. Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Local arrangements are being handled by the Ballinger-Peppard Funeral Home in Richwood.
