Howard Ramsey Preston, 75, of Richwood died Sunday, Dec. 4, 1994, at his
residence after having been in failing health for a year. He was retired as a tool and dye maker at Eaton Manufacturing in Marion and was a member of the Richwood First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Richard Britton VFW Post #6817 in Mount Victory. He was born April 26,1919, in Sunfield, Ill., to the late Ira and Alice Marie Ramsey Preston. He was preceded in death by four brothers. He married Thelma Marie Runion on May 7,1939, in Barlow, Ky., and she survives. He is also survived by three sons, Howard Preston Jr. of Durango, Colo., David Preston of Livonia, Mich., and Dan Preston of Radnor, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. The Revs. James R. Taylor and C. L. Fuqua will officiate and interment will be at the Claiboume Cemetery, where VFW Post #6817 will be in charge of graveside services. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Tricare Hospice, in care of Memorial Hospital of Union County. | |||
