Ruffes B. Hughes


Prospect resident Ruffes B. Hughes, 70, died Friday, July 3, 1993 at Marion General Hospital.

The self-employed plumber had been in failing health two years.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and
Prospect Lodge #444 F&AM.

Born in Thompson Township, April 6, 1923, he was the son of the late Miles and Gertrude Craig Hughes. Jan. 13, 1945 he married the former Alberta Keller, who survives along with
a son, Robert of Dublin and a granddaughter.
Also surviving are three brothers, Heskell Hughes and Miles Hughes, both of Marion and Carl Hughes of Lexington, NC; and a sister, Oma Chapell
of Prospect.
A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 3 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with David Nevergall officiating. Interment was in Shoup Cemetery.
Masonic services were held Monday evening at Gehm-Ballinger-Peppard Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American
Cancer Society.
