Clarence Pelfrey


Clarence Pelfrey, 64 of marion, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1993 at University Hospital in Columbus following a lengthy illness.  The retired crane operator at Marion Power Shovel was a member of Prospect Baptist Church, A U. S. Army veteran with the 82nd Airbourne Division, he was a member of Verne I. Mounts American Legion Post #368 and VFW.

He was born July 8, 1929 in Floyd County, KY a son of the late Grand and Edith Elkins Pelfrey.

Surviving are his wife, the former Gladys Snyder, whom he married October 31, 1952; two daughters, Cathy Drumm of Prospect and Debbie Pelfrey of marion; two sons, Gary and Danny, both of Prospect; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Also survivng are two sisters, Stella Hall and Eldora hayes, both of Florida and a brother, Clyde of Minneapolis.  A sister and five brothers preceded him in death.

Rev. Rob Schlatter and Rev. Thomas Lasley conducted funeral services Friday, Dec. 10 at Prospect Baptist Church.  Burial was in Prospect Cemetery where graveside services were officiated by Verne I. Mounts American Legion Post.

Gehm-Ballinger-Peppard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
