Isabel Herd Clevenger, 85, of Richwood died at home on Saturday, Feb. 13,
1993. She had been in failing health for several yean. She was a co-owner of the former Miller Market in Richwood and had worked at Thomasson Hardware and at Davis-Hughes Hardware in Richwood. She was a member of the Richwood First United Methodist Church. She was born July 9, 1907, in Union County to the late Nelson and Lida Northrup Herd. Her firs husband, Lowell Miller, died August 7,1943. She married Frank Clevenger on Nov. 3,1954, and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1990. A sister and a brother also predeceased her. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Marilyn) Wood of Wellsville; a grandson. Timothy L. Wood, and great-grandson, Geoffrey R. Wood, both of Springfield, Va,; and a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Mary) Sewell of Marysville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ballinger-Peppard Funeral Home in Richwood, with the Rev. Wilbur R. Boyer officiating. Interment will be at the Claibourne Cemetery near Richwood. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of the Richwood First United Methodist Church. | |||
