Betty J. Seaman LeMaster


Betty J. Seaman LeMaster, 73, formerly of Richwood died Monday, July 17, 2006 at Marion General Hospital.  She was born Jan 1, 1933 in Essex to Lynn and Hanna K. (Deaver) Seaman, both deceased.

She was of the Methodist faith, and had worked at Isaly's Restaurant, the Turkey Farm, Marion Furniture and Kresege's.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.  She first married Ronald K. “Dick” Griffith with whom she had two children, Rona (Roy) Penix, Richwood and Gary (Sharon) Griffith, Corona, California.  She then married Alfred Kilgore with whom she had two children, Vicki (Ron) January and Dereck Kilgore, both of Marion.  She then married Gordon LeMaster.  She then had close companions Blaine Fulton, followed by Samuel Childres, both of whom, as well as her three husbands preceding her in death.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 1 brother Charles Lester Douglas, LaRue, 1 sister Eloise Poland, Mt. Gilead, several nieces and nephews and her adopted family the Doyles.  She was preceded in death by a brother Jim Seaman and 2 grandsons Robert Dean Penix and Roy M. Penix Jr.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Rev. Fred Cheney officiating.  Burial will be in Claibourne Cemetery.  Friends may call from 6 to 9 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
