Norma Mae Dennis, 76, formerly of Marion and Richwood, died Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Columbus Alzheimer’s Care Center. She was born August 16, 1930 in Richwood to the late Lee Long Chapman and Ruth Jane Prater Chapman Young.
On July 16, 1947, she married Irvin Sherwood Dennis who survives in Marion. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was an active volunteer for various nursing homes and hospitals. She had formerly served on the board of the Richwood Community Apartments and Civic Center while she and her husband were residents there. Besides her husband, she is survived by 2 sons, Larry Dennis, Marion; Daniel (Susan) Dennis, Marion; 2 daughters, Barbara (Charles) Coleman, North Zulch, TX; Lisa (John) Newkirk, Delaware; 1 sister, Betty (Carl) Uline, Marion, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Meryl Chapman. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Jerry Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of the funeral home.
