Robert Eugene Apt


Robert Eugene Apt, 73, of Richwood died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Heartland of Marysville.  He was born Jan. 28, 1934 in Ashley, Ohio to the late Eugene and Chris (Stults) Apt.

He was an avid OSU fan and loved spending time at his house at Indian Lake and on the boat.  He was retired from Whirlpool after 40 years of service.  The 1952 Prospect High School graduate was a star athlete in his youth.  He had been a bus driver for the North Union School District, a Boy Scout Troop Leader and a coach and commissioner for North Union Baseball for Boys.  He was the former owner of Richwood Lanes, Apt’s Dairy Bar of Richwood and Delaware and Apt’s Pizza of Richwood and Mt. Victory.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen (Eaton) Apt, to whom he had been married 56 years, his 5 children, Michael (Kristy) Apt, Prospect; Wayne Apt, Prospect; Robin (Stuart) Lenox, Richwood; Patrice (Dr. Dean) Gray, Byhalia; Wendy Schindler, Zanesfield; 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis (Milbourne) Donaugh, Ft. Myers, FL; brother John (Loretta) Apt, Columbus.

Graveside Services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the Claibourne Cemetery with Rev. Clyde McCall officiating.  Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Richwood Park or the Northern Union County Fire and EMS.
