James Leroy Garee
James Leroy Garee, 69, of Green Camp died Sunday morning, May 25, 2008 in Marion surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 11, 1938 in Marysville to the late Claude and Millie (Jennings) Garee Sr.
He worked at the former B. F. Goodrich and Parker Hannafin in Green Camp for over 40 years. His last occupation was at the Marion Kroger gas station until just recently. His true passion in life was harness racing, having owned and trained his own horses. More recently his available time was spent in his garden. Above all, he loved his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin Garee, Marion and his three children, Briana, Taylor and Hunter; Kenneth (Sarah) Garee, Sunbury; a daughter, Dondra (Brian) Sands, Magnetic Springs and their children, Joshua and KaSandra; two sisters, Joan Smith, Washington Court House; Jane Sanderson, Marysville; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Garee Breece, Marysville; best friend Don Lowe, Marysville; nieces and nephews, Ernest Garee, Toledo; Richard Garee, Centerburg; Thomas Garee, Oregon; Diane Wheeler, Marion; Mary M. Huddleston, James Price, Sandra Ridge, all of Richwood; Shirlee Sanderson, North Carolina; Steven Sanderson, Kansas City; Timothy Smith and Andrew Smith, both of Columbus; and Cynthia Smith, Washington Court House.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Waldo, Herbert John, Claude Jr. and Cecil.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Mo Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Broadway Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday.
