Flo Fitzpatrick


Floyce Ilene Fitzpatrick, age 75 of Marysville, died peacefully and unexpectedly at her home Friday morning July 18, 2008.

She was born October 6, 1932 in Akron to the late Harmon Herman and Ilene (Manhart) Trautman.

She was a graduate of Norwalk High School and was formerly the owner of the Village Grocery in Magnetic Springs for 25 years.  She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville.  Flo was a civic-minded individual, caring for and serving her community in various capacities, including past president of Save Our Springs, Clerk of Magnetic Springs, Zoning Inspector of Leesburg Township and serving on the Board of Elections.  She was active with the local schools and had been a softball coach, and she loved watching the kids play baseball in Richwood and Magnetic.  She loved to travel and loved playing golf and bowling.  She was a member of the Marysville Women’s Bowling League, playing on the Magnetic Screw Machine team on Thursdays, the Blue’s Creek Ladies Golf Club playing on the Swings the Blues team on Wednesday nights, and the Magnetic Springs Mother’s Club.

On Sept. 29, 1951, she married Leonard F. Pheifer and he died November 27, 1974.  On January 3, 1976 she married Lowell Fitzpatrick, and he survives in Marysville.

She is also survived by four sons, David (Hope) Pheifer, Sudbury, Mass.; Michael (Lorrie) Pheifer, Ostrander; Jeffrey (Caroline) Pheifer, Magnetic Springs; Alan (Kathy) Fitzpatrick, Marysville; seven daughters, Anne (Greg) Jordan, Delaware; Susan (Greg) Ernst, Plain City; Karen (Mike) Stock, Weston, Ohio; Sharon (Daniel) Griffith, Marysville; Amy (Brian) Bower, Huron; Penny Britton, Richwood; Lisa (Kurt) Gilroy, West Liberty; 27 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis J. (Frank) Myers, Rock Hill, SC; Barbara A. (Charles) Mitchell, Union, KY; Linda J. (Bob) Bodis, Olmstead; and a brother, Carl R. (Becky) Trautman, Orlando, FL.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Harmon P. Trautman and two sisters, Evelyn M. Boron and Janet K. Wojcinski.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood, officiating will be Rev. David A. Poliafico.  Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM on Monday at the funeral home in Richwood.
