Chester Gene “Jay” Lambert Jr.


Chester Gene “Jay” Lambert Jr., 58, of Delaware, died Friday morning, Sept. 5, 2008 at the OSU James Cancer Hospital.  He was born February 4, 1950 to Chester Gene Sr. and Margie (Lyon) Lambert.

He was retired from the United States Marine Corps after serving for 18 years.  He then worked as a contractor for DCS at Patuxent River in Maryland, involved in foreign military sales.  He loved shooting his guns and loved riding motorcycles.  Most of all he loved his family.

On April 1, 1968 he married Donna (Boyd) Lambert and she survives in Delaware.  He is also survived by his father, Chester Sr.; three sons, Lonnie Lee Lambert, Delaware; Monti Gene Lambert, Delaware; Chester Gene "Chet" (Valerie) Lambert III, Westerville; a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Scara, Delaware; a brother, Charles Lambert, Oklahoma; four sisters, Betty (Ken) Hughes, Delaware; Debbie (Christopher) Saunders, Milford Center; Lisa (Dan) Simpkins, Delaware; Christy Hecker, Marysville; 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Hecker.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Rev. Ralph Watts officiating.  In keeping with Jay’s wishes, his family requests that dress be casual for the funeral service.  Burial will follow in Mapledell Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the USMC.  Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
