Golda Kate Cochran
Golda Kate Cochran, age 94 of LaRue, died Saturday Morning April 4, 2009 at Heartland of Marion. She was born Nov. 13, 1914 in Normantown, West Virginia to the late Brooks Bentley and Rebecca Bernice (James) Bond.
She was a member of LaRue Baptist Church, and loved making beautiful quilts. Although she had no children of her own, she loved babysitting and being with children.
On December 22, 1945 she married Lester Gilbert Cochran and he died November 14, 2000 after 55 years of marriage. She is survived by two nieces, Becky Felty, LaRue; and Golda Howell, Palestine, Texas and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 2:30 PM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, LaRue with Rev. Tim Pasma officiating. Burial will follow in LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday.
