Charles E. Jordan
Charles E. Jordan, age 83 of Richwood, died Monday, April 13, 2009 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born February 25, 1926 in Greenup, Kentucky to the late Orville and Cora (Tripplet) Jordan.
He was a U. S. Navy veteran who was serving in Okinawa during WWII when the Japanese surrendered. Charles loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, hunting for arrowheads and telling jokes. More than anything, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He married the former Janis Wright in 1972 and she survives in Richwood. He is also survived by six sons, Joseph (Andrea Barron) Jordan, Richwood; Christopher Jordan, Marysville; Chuck (Deb) Jordan, Marysville; Donald Foley, Marysville; Rick Foley, Richwood; Robert Foley, Richwood; five daughters, Wendy (Michael) Cline, Peoria; Cindy (George) Henault, LaRue; Cheryl Cook, Richwood; Linda Foley; Patricia Cordle, Richwood; grandchildren, Mandy, Tara, Dawn, Sarah, Jamie, Jacob, Sherri, Joey, Heavenlee, Shannon, Payton, Dustin, Samantha, Jazmyne, Staci and Stephani; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde (Norma) Jordan, Toledo; two sisters, Louise (Dale) Chapman, Logan; Christine Lewis, California; sisters-in-law, June Jordan, Arizona and Hazel Jordan, Arizona. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Gene Jordan.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Thursday. Burial will be in Claibourne Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans.
