Betty J. Johnson
Betty J. Johnson, age 85 formerly of Prospect, died Sunday morning, September 20, 2009 at Marion Manor. She was born October 11, 1923 in Prospect to the late Pearl L. and Gertrude B. (Wood) Redmon.
The WWII Navy veteran was retired from Ranco where she had worked for over 20 years.
She is survived by two sons, Jack D. (Melinda) Johnson, Marion; Jeffrey L. (Dianne) Johnson, Prospect; a brother, Robert L. Redmon, Richwood; a sister, Eileen Dennis, New Bloomington; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Anthony, Jeffrey and Brian Johnson; Shane and Karlene Kohler; four great-grandchildren, Austin Holbrook, Ashton Johnson, Seth and Sydney Kohler. She was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley Lowell, David and Gerald Redmon; and a sister, Maxine Brown
A graveside service will be held at Prospect Cemetery at a later date. In keeping with Betty’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held at Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home.
