Juanita Virginia Cantrell


Juanita Virginia Cantrell, age 87 of Magnetic Springs, died Friday evening, June 11, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born March 6, 1923 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Aca and Hazel (Evans) King.

On January 19, 1940 she married Earl Cantrell and he survives.  She is also survived by a daughter, Barbara Franklin, Prospect; son Tim (Nancy) Cantrell, Zanesfield; daughter-in-law, Kathy Cantrell, Magnetic Springs; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and three sisters.  She was preceded in death by a son, Will Cantrell.

She was a member of the Holy Spirit Fellowship Church, Delaware in which she enjoyed being active.  She was retired from Ranco in Delaware where she had worked for 37 years.  Juanita was a master quilter, who enjoyed making quilts for her family and others and also finished quilts for other quilters and was a member of “Save Our Springs”.  She and her husband, Earl enjoyed travelling and camping, having been to all of the lower 48 states and to the Holy Land.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, making apple butter and being a homemaker for her family.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Rev. Jeff Glann officiating.  Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday.
