Edward Duane Pacha


Edward Duane Pacha, age 70 of Richwood died unexpectedly Friday evening, January 7, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Union County.  He was born April 3, 1940 in Richwood.  He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Pacha; his mother, Ella Louise (Trease) Dickason; and his step-father, LeRoy Dickason.

On January 3, 1959 he married the former Nancy Allinder in the Essex United Methodist Church and she survives in Richwood.  Family was the most important thing to Ed.  His wife, children and grandchildren were the joy of his life.  He was a member of the Richwood First United Methodist Church, former Richwood Lions Club, Indian Lake Moose, Buckeye Central Snow Trackers and the Gold Wing Club.  A 1958 graduate of Richwood High School, he was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps.  He worked for Whirlpool for 34 years, retiring in 2001.  He had also worked for the Richwood Gazette, North Union Schools and most recently, John Hinderer Honda.  A bit of a perfectionist, he really enjoyed doing yard work and was considered by all who knew him to be an all-around “good guy”.  He will be missed by his dog, Molly, who was his walking companion.

Besides his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his step-mother, Margaret Pacha, Upper Sandusky; three daughters, Kimberly Williams, Marion; Dawn Willey, Mt. Gilead; Christy Pacha, San Diego, CA; six brothers, Gary (Angela) Dickason, Edgerton; Arthur (Barb) Dickason, Marion; Charles (LeAnn) Dickason, Delaware; Ronald (Charlene) Dickason, Marion; David (Deb) Pacha, Richwood; Ronald Pacha, Marion; two sisters, Peggy Collins, Florida; Gina Hunter, Florida; grandchildren, Brandon Williamson; Kayle Williamson; Logen Willey; Taylor Gochenouer; Justin (Molly) Williams; Clint Williams; Blake Williams; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood where friends may call from 4 to 7.  Pastor Joe Rhea will officiate and military honors will be conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans.
