Rosa Della Owen
Rosa Della Owen, age 93, of Marion, Ohio, died Wednesday May 23, 2012 at 8:45 PM at Marion Manor Nursing Home. She was born July 16, 1918 in Bowling Green Township, Marion County to the late Paul O. and Ivah (Trihaft) Owen.
Della is survived by a sister; Mary Stevenson of Marion, and a brother; Preston Owen of Cardington. Nieces; Ann (Bob) Kirkpatrick, Sue Bumgarner, Nancy (Donzil) Hall, Becky (Dick) Hix, and Lynn (Val) Harris. Nephews; Walter (Marcia) Nickel and Howard (Sue) Nickel. There are great nieces and nephews and even great great nieces and nephews. Paul and Rachel Trihaft of LaRue and Chet and Beth Kurtz of Bellefontaine are surviving cousins. A sister; Lillie Mae Nickel and a brother; John Owen preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Prospect Street United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Wesley Circle. Member of the Altrusa International, Inc. of Marion, Ohio, since 1956 and was president in 59-60. Beta Gamma Chapter of Lanbda Chi Omega Sorority. A Grange member since 1925 and at present belonging to Tymochtee Grange. Also member of the Friends of the Library Marion, Ohio. Della worked most of her life at Van Atta Supply as office manager and head bookkeeper.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday May 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Prospect Street United Methodist Church in Marion, Ohio. Pastors Nancy Goulet and Joe Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church in Marion on Tuesday May 29, 2012 from 4 to 8 PM.
