Michael A. Grose


Michael A. Grose, age 45 of Richwood died unexpectedly Saturday, August 4, 2012 while working at a painting job in Cleveland.  He was born May 5, 1967 in Marion to Howard and Evelyn (Eastman) Grose, who both survive in Richwood.

On January 30, 1993 he married the former Tara E. Holton at the York-McKendree United Methodist Church in York Center and she survives in Richwood.

A 1985 graduate of North Union High School, he worked as a painting contractor and farmer, where he was the backbone of the family farming operation.  He was a member of North Union Young Farmers and coached baseball in the North Union Baseball for Boys organization where he helped in different capacities for many years.  He loved going to farm auctions.  Michael was a handyman and mechanic who could fix anything and was always willing to help anyone who needed it.  He was a great dad, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Logan and Lincoln and a daughter, Layne, all at home; a brother, Mark Grose, Richwood; four sisters, Melanie (Stan) Price, Richwood; Michelle (Allen) Strickland, Willow Springs, North Carolina; Marcy Elliott, Richwood; Melita (Larry) Becker, Lebanon; his mother-in-law, Sandie (Jim) Hess, Kimbolton; and a loving and devoted extended family.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Richwood Church of Christ, 29063 Sivey Road in Richwood with Pastors Matthew Craig and Dave Hudson officiating.  Burial will follow in York Cemetery.  Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.
