Lowell Levi Price


Lowell Levi Price, age 90 of Richwood died Thursday, September 6, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born October 13, 1921 in Essex to the late John Henry and Clara (Lewis) Price.

On August 12, 1950 he married the former Evelyn Marie Porter in Green Camp and she died June 4, 2006.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, John Willis.

A lifetime Union County farmer, he had taken over responsibilities of the farm as a youth when his father died.  He was a veteran of the United States Merchant Marines during World War II.  In 1952 he bought the farm where he raised his family and resided for the rest of his life.  He attended the Marysville Grace Brethren Church.  Through his faithful prayer life, he endeavored to impress upon his children their need for a personal relationship with Jesus and to be faithful to it all their lives.  He was a very loving and giving person and was grateful for all the blessings in his life.

He is survived by three children, Linda (Donald) Mathys, West Mansfield; Stanley (Melanie) Price, Richwood; Steven (Vicki) Price, Richwood; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Kris (Anita) Price and their children, Kody, Kallie, Kole, and Kelsie, Richwood; Andy (Allison) Price, Marion; Scott (Deana) Price and their children, Kylin, Keirynn and Emma, Lebanon; Joselyn Price; and her daughter, Kadyn, Richwood; Lindsey Price, Kent; Sarah (Cory) Smith and their children, Kinley and Colton; Nathan (McKenzie) Price, Bethany Price; Alicia Price and Janae Price all of Richwood; Amber Mathys and Miriah Mathys, West Mansfield; and a sister, Mary Jane Kraner, Marion.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Clancy Cruise officiating.  Burial will follow in Price Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans.  Friends may call Tuesday at the funeral home from 5 to 8 PM.
