Florence “Flo” Thompson


Florence “Flo” Thompson, age 74 of Marysville, formerly of Richwood died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Milcrest Nursing Center in Marysville.  She was born June 25, 1938 in Junction City, Kansas to the late Ray D. and Vera May (Brown) Smith.

On August 15, 1975 she married Lorain A. “Tommy” Thompson and he died July 3, 2011.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Moore.

A homemaker, she had worked at Ranco in Delaware and then at the former Heritage Restaurant in Richwood for many years.  She attended the Bible Baptist Church in Marysville.  Flo loved people, and was a member of The Center in Richwood where she played in the Kitchen Band.  She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.  She loved to craft, do puzzles, sew and play cards.  Taking care of family was what Flo enjoyed most.

She is survived by two sons, Blanchard (Karen) Moore, Marysville; Ryan (Suann) Moore, Springfield; a daughter, Viantha L. (Bill) Halley, Plain City; five step-children, Allen Thompson, Marysville; Bob Thompson, Richwood; Dana (Debbie) Thompson, Richwood; Bill Thompson, North Carolina; Scott (Christy) Thompson, Richwood; numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Dan Grose officiating.  Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday.
