James “Jim” Wiley


James “Jim” Wiley, age 73 of Ridgeway died early Wednesday morning, February 20, 2013 at Baton Rouge Health Services Community in Lima.  He was born March 17, 1939 in Union County to the late Charles C. and Emma Dell (Clapsaddle) Wiley.

On March 10, 1979 he married the former Donna Long in Rushsylvania and she survives.

A 1957 graduate of Byhalia-York High School, he had worked at B. F. Goodrich, which became Parker-Hannifan, retiring after 28 years.  He then worked as a supervisor for A. P. Technoglass in Bellefontaine and retired from there as well.  Jim was a farmer for many years.

Jim enjoyed fishing and woodworking and was a big fan of NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Jr.  He was also a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.  Above all, family and grandchildren were most important to him.

He is survived by a daughter, Valerie “Sis” (Jim) Cox, Richwood; seven sons, Jim (Nancy) Wiley, Richwood; Scott (Lisa) Wiley, Richwood; Scott (Linda) Kelly, Ridgeway; Mike “Babe” Kelly, Marysville; Bob (Shenan) Kelly, Ridgeway, Toby (Tina) Kelly, Rushsylvania; Dennis “Tomcat” (Robin) Kelly, Ridgeway; his former wife, Janet Wiley, Richwood; a brother, Gene (Peg) Wiley, Richwood; a sister, Barbara Tallman, West Mansfield; 25 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren on the way.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Jeremy Geissinger officiating.  Burial will follow in Byhalia Cemetery.  Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 PM and on Saturday 2 hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM.
