Sherry Joan Denman


Sherry Joan Denman, age 79, of LaRue died Tuesday May 28, 2013 at the DeWolfe House in Marion, Ohio. She was born May 1, 1934 near LaRue to the late Carl C. and Irma M. (Blue) Carothers.  On November 25, 1959 she married Joel Edwin Denman and he survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Darcy (Wade) Lallathin of LaRue; two brothers, Robert Carothers of Paulding, Ohio, and James R. (Pat) Carothers of LaRue; a sister , Bonnie (Francis) Glenn of Delaware, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Carothers.

Sherry graduated from LaRue High School in 1952 and The Ohio State University in 1957 with a degree in Medical Illustration. She was employed by Mt. Carmel Hospital and later by Howard Swink Advertising in Marion. A talented artist, Sherry loved working with oil paints and watercolors, as well as photography and pencil sketches. She loved classical music and everything outdoors: hiking, cycling, running, animals, and life on the farm. She especially enjoyed introducing “city people” to the farm and to nature.

Friends may call at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home 210 S. High St. LaRue, Ohio on Thursday June 6, from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.  Minister will be the Rev. Edward W. Fugate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
