Rex Baldwin


Rex Baldwin, age 79 of Richwood, died early Wednesday morning, December 25, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born September 5, 1934 in Auto, West Virginia to the late Emmanuel and Tempie (Lewis) Baldwin.

On July 7, 1979 he married the former Debbie Henderson in the Richwood Park, and she survives in Richwood.  He is also survived by a son, Anson (Christy) Baldwin, Richwood; a daughter, Tammy (Jerry) Harward, North Carolina; grandchildren, Hailey and Audrey Baldwin; Joe (Jennifer) Marze, Crystal Marze, Levi (Kim) Webster, Ethan Webster, all of North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Jonah Marze, Brianna Marze, and David Forte, all of North Carolina; two brothers, Ralph (Gay) Baldwin, Rupert, West Virginia; Robert (Karen) Baldwin, Belle Center; three sisters, Ruth (Doug) Smith, Belle Center; Rachel (Karl) Smith, Roseville; and Bea (Gene) Phipps, Forest Hill, Maryland.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and James Baldwin.

Rex loved his grandchildren more than life.  Among his many jobs, he was a semi-truck driver, auto mechanic, owner of a construction business and retired from Utah Power & Light in Wyoming as a Journeyman Mechanic.  He loved the outdoors and going to West Virginia deer hunting every year on his family farm.  He also enjoyed fishing.  He was an avid bowler and bowled on many leagues in Marysville.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 4:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor David Hudson officiating.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM.
