Harold Veldon Greene


Harold Veldon Greene age 80 of LaRue, died Tuesday afternoon April 8, 2014 at the Kindred Nursing Center in Marion.

He was born May 14, 1933 in Cordell, Kentucky to the late Morton and Beatrice (Berry) Greene; he was also predeceased by one brother Donald Greene

Harold retired as a Tool and Die Supervisor at Delo Screw Products in Delaware after nearly 30 yrs. .

Harold had attended the LaRue Baptist Church; he had a passion for anything to do with the outdoors such as fishing, camping and hunting (especially grouse). Harold was an avid reader; some of his favorites were westerns, Zane Grey novels and anything about history. He and Polly loved traveling and in his younger days he enjoyed playing softball.

But the true center of his life was his family and the time he spent with them.

Surviving is his wife Polly (Coy) whom he married August 6, 1977 at Zaleski, Ohio, eight children: Harold K. (Dee) Greene, Marysville, Lloyd (Kolleen) Milliron, Marion, Jim Milliron, Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Butch (Linda Lou) Milliron, Delaware, Charlene (Bob) Flint, Marysville, Brenda (Merrill) Eggleston, Marysville, Linda Sue Roloson, Delaware and Roberta Lee Smith , Delaware
69 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren
Nine brothers and sisters: Dwight (Pat) Greene, Radnor, Carol (Milton) Martindale, Marysville, Phyllis Tannert, Ravenna, Luretta Cox, McArthur, Janan Barr, Marion, Mary (Calvin) Hawkins, McPherson, Kansas, Terry (Bob) Ciaraldi, Marysville, Patricia Miller, Ocala, Florida and Joan(Rod) Green, McPherson, Kansas

Funeral services will be held Saturday April 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at the LaRue Baptist Church, Revs. Robert Flint and Tim Pasma will officiate; burial will follow in the LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4-7 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue.
