Paul Grose


Paul Grose, 89 of Richwood, went to be with the Lord peacefully Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Kindred Community surrounded by his loving family.  He was born August 24, 1925 in Washington Court House to Emor and Glenna Mae (Morris) Grose.  He was the oldest of 15 children.

On March 31, 1945 in Findlay he married the former Erdine Brown and was married for 66 years until she preceded him in death in 2011.  He was also preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Al Doss and Steve Ballinger; a sister, Betty Dill, brother Emor Grose Jr., and an infant sister.

Surviving is his loving family, two daughters, Susan Doss and Becky Ballinger, both of Marion; two sons, Lester (Mary Jo) Grose, Marion and Steve Grose, Florida; five grandchildren, Andy (Wanda) Williams; Lori (Donny) Connor; Todd (Annie) Ballinger; Nathan (Jodi) Grose; Katie (Justin) Carlyle; nine great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by seven brothers, Harold (Shirley) Grose, West Mansfield; Howard (Evelyn) Grose, Richwood; Robert Donald (friend, Betty Hamilton) Grose, Richwood; Carl (Mary Lou) Grose, Marion; James (Connie) Grose, Marion; Kenneth (Vi) Grose, Marysville; Allen Lynn (Mary) Grose, Byhalia; four sisters, Florence Borland, Richwood; Anna Mae (Jack) Hines, Raymond; Mary Jane (Harold) Durban, Richwood; Gail (Gary) Price, Florida.

Coming from as large a family as he did, Paul made his 89 years of life all about family.  He loved his farm life of many years before becoming owner of Richwood Implement in 1966.  After closing the implement he enjoyed working at Mcauliffe's Ace Hardware in Marysville, where he retired.  He was a member of the former Richwood Lions Club and served for many years on the Richwood Civic Center board of directors.  Paul enjoyed a hobby of collecting toy farm equipment.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Tim Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery.  Friends may call Friday, January 30, 2015 from 4 to 7 PM on at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.
