Murray “Bud” Edward Verity


Murray “Bud” Edward Verity, 77, of Green Camp, passed away early Sunday morning, June 21, 2015 at Marion General Hospital with family by his side.  He was born in Nelsonville on September 11, 1937 to the late Harvey Edward and Vera Vivian (Young) Verity.  He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Dean Verity and Elizabeth Ann Verity.

Bud, as everyone knew him, graduated from Prospect High School.  He was a man of several occupations in life: Erie Railroad, farmer, Union County Sherriff’s Deputy, and business owner to name a few.  He was a member of The White Oaks Road Freewill Church in Marion.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 15 years, Betty (Bunner) Verity; two sons, Robert “Bob” (Jodi) Verity and Keith (Lavon)Verity, both of Pleasant Township; and a daughter Ann Verity of Marysville; two stepchildren, John Jewell of South Carolina; David Jewell of Richwood; 8 grandchildren; a sister, Blanche Vivian Mounts-King of Waldo; 3 brothers, Glen Verity of Alberta, Canada; David Verity of Divide, CO; Michael Chapman of Florissant, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the White Oaks Road Freewill Baptist Church in Marion with Pastor Danny Dickerson officiating.  Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery.  Friends may call Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 5 to 8 PM at the White Oaks Road Freewill Baptist Church.
