Ernest B. Jamison


Ernest B. Jamison 80 of Richwood, died peacefully Tuesday evening June 30, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born August 15, 1934 in Nebo, North Carolina to the late Gaston B. and Dorothy Todd (Adkins) Jamison; he was also predeceased by one brother: Richard Jamison and one grandson J.J. Musgrave

Ernie was a veteran of the Marine Corps, a retired self-employed truck driver, he drove for over 42 yrs., most of that time for his company Jamison Trucking.  He was a dedicated member of the Richwood Community United Calvary Church. He enjoyed fishing, running his beagles and drag racing, but one of his greatest joys was watching his grandkids doing their activities and sporting events.

Ernie was known for being a friend, mentor and role model for many young people in the community, he did not do this in a loud manner, he did it in his gentle, humble and sincere way.

Surviving is his wife Peggy F. (Bevis), whom he married October 1, 1982 at the Richwood First United Methodist Church, their children: Rose Mary (Tim Greenleaf) Price, Marysville, William (Lauri) Wilson, Richwood, Holly Beth (Ted) Ebelberger, Prospect, Wendelyn N. (Christy) Wilson, Raymond, Ernie B. (Cindi) Jamison Jr., Richwood, Jennifer J. (Eric) Ballenger, Sunbury and Angela F. Spain, Richwood  , 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews that was very special to him.

Two brothers: James M. (Nancy) Jamison of Sebring, Fl. and Kenneth E. Jamison of Richwood, one sister: Linda Lockwood

Funeral Services will be held Monday July 6, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Community United Calvary Church in Richwood, where following the service, there will be veteran services conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans. Friends may call Sunday at the church from 3-6 pm, officiating will be Pastor Fred Cheney, burial in the Price Cemetery will be held at a later date.
