Ivamae Johnson Smith
Ivamae Johnson Smith, 92, formerly of Richwood and Rockledge, Florida, died Saturday, September 5, 2015 at DeWolfe Place in Marion. She was born January 29, 1923 near Richwood to the late Ray and Orpha (Howison) Johnson.
A 1941 graduate of Richwood High School, she spent most of her life in Florida where she married Harry W. Smith on March 20, 1947. He died in 1974. She was also preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Ivamae was recently a resident of Kiwanis Village in LaRue. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an avid reader. She was very artistic and enjoyed spending her time drawing and painting.
She is survived by her niece, Betty Downs, LaRue; her nephew, John (Jean) Johnson, Marion; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Dave Dipietro officiating. Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
