Kara Danielle Lucas
Kara Danielle Lucas, 37 of Richwood died Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware following a prolonged illness. She was born September 18, 1978 in Marion to Daniel Keith and Barbara J. (Miller) Sheppard.
On March 24, 2001 she married Nick Lucas at the Richwood Church of Christ and he survives in Richwood.
She was a homemaker and had worked as an E. M. T. for Kare Medical. She was a member of the Richwood Church of Christ and also volunteered for the Red Cross. Kara enjoyed crafting – sewing, making bags, beads and patchwork quilts. She had a passion for cars, especially her ’88 Mustang. She loved life and was very caring of others.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, Barb (Jeff) Swartz, Richwood; her daughter, Kamryn Lucas, who was the light of her life; her brother, Kirk Sheppard, Cincinnati; her step-brother, Jerry (Gina) Swartz, Bowling Green; and her step-sister, Jennifer Swartz, Davidson, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Richwood Church of Christ with Pastors Matthew Craig and Joseph Rhea officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.
